Assessment of attitudes related to humanization of assistance by medical students

Abstract: Introduction: Typical medical care has been characterized by professional and disease-centered attitudes, with little concern for focusing on the patient’s psychosocial context expectations. However, that seeks to more globally encompass perspective shown bring greater benefits. Objective: To evaluate attitudes of students regarding physician-patient relationship. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study evaluated in 4th semester course relation patient based application Patient-Practitioner Orientation Scale questionnaire sociodemographic curricular characteristics. The majority (85.5%) had centered physician disease (mean PPOS scores <4.57), caring domain higher sharing domain. variables gender, income, student financial aid, showed positive association (p≤0.05) related patient-centered attitudes. There no statistically significant associations age group, city origin, undergraduate research activities, extracurricular internships, artistic personal history serious illness, parental level schooling. Conclusion: present assessed disease, mean below range humanized medicine.
